If you’ve been in the K-Beauty game for a while, you may well remember Leegeeham. And if you’ve been into Korean skincare for a really long time, then you’ll remember Leejiham. So, what now? Leejiham, turned Leegeeham, has recently undergone major rebranding into the newly formed Dr Ceuracle! And we’re going to take a closer look at this brand in today’s post.
Brand Story
“The Cosmeceutical Pioneer in Korea” is Dr Ceuracle’s slogan. The company was originally developed by Dr Lee, Ji and Ham and the new brand name, Dr Ceuracle, is a combination of the words “cosmeceutical” and “miracle”. Since the year 2000, the brand has been using clinical expertise from their award-winning dermatology laboratory in South Korea to develop top-level cosmeceutical lines. With access to technological data from their research, plus the professional care knowledge from their dermatologists, Dr Ceuracle has a motto of curing, balancing and caring for the skin.
Leegeeham was known for its different lines for different purposes. Dr Ceuracle has sharpened that focus and is now working on providing enhanced skincare solutions for every person and every skin type. Their products have been streamlined into three distinct categories: Natural Derma, the signature line of Dr Ceuracle’s “botanic science” theory; Medical Derma, advanced formulas that are proven to have significant effect on specific skin concerns; and Makeup, light products to provide a natural glow and healthy-looking skin. While there are the 3 categories, there are also various ingredients-focussed lines within the brand line up of products, all aimed at resolving different skin issues. We’ll delve deeper into the specific ingredients below.
Key Ingredients
Propolis
Propolis is a natural ingredient created by bees, used as a protectant to line their hives. It’s now a well-known ingredient in Korean skincare, and Dr Ceuracle created one of the first famous propolis products, the Royal Vita Propolis 33 Ampoule. Why is propolis good for the skin? Topically, this ingredient provides a wide variety of benefits. Firstly, it’s a natural anti-septic with anti-inflammatory and healing properties. This makes it a great option for acne-prone or damaged skin. However it’s also wonderfully moisturizing and soothing, so this ingredient really does it all for all skin types.
Tea Tree
Tea tree oil is a liquid from the leaves of the Meleleuca Alternifolia, a plant native to Australia. These days, it’s used globally and well-known for its anti-septic and anti-inflammatory properties. This makes it a popular choice for troubled skin and those looking to heal blemishes. It can help reduce the redness and appearance of a blemish, as well as speed up the healing process.
Cica
Centella asiatica, or cica as it’s commonly referred to in K-beauty, is an extract from a leafy plant found in various places worldwide. It has traditionally been used in Chinese medicine both as an internal supplement and a topical treatment. In skincare, it is known for its calming and soothing properties. This is due to the madecassic acid which can help reduce inflammation. It’s also packed with antioxidants which help protect skin from environmental damage.
Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid is somewhat of a buzzword in the skincare industry and is naturally found in our skin (although it decreases as we age). Its fame comes from the fact that the molecule can hold a thousand times its own weight in water! Because it retains this water, it helps keep skin hydrated and plumped, resulting in a more glowy, radiant complexion. It’s a useful ingredient for all skin types, and particularly for those with dry or mature skin. By retaining moisture, it also helps with skin elasticity and can help with preventative ageing.
Dr Ceuracle Products We Love
Now that we know a little more about the key ingredients used by Dr Ceuracle, here are our top 3 products from the brand:
This tea tree essence contains 95% tea tree extract (yes, 95%!) to relieve troubled skin with its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. The formula will help soothe and calm sensitive skin while controlling excess sebum and, bonus, there is no detectable scent. Can you believe it?! Say goodbye to strong, eye-watering acne treatments and enjoy a natural, gentle formula that delivers results. We like to apply the essence after toner, and before serum. The thin liquid absorbs quickly and is a perfect light layer to help target blemishes.
Royal Vita Propolis 33 Ampoule
This is arguably the most famous Dr Ceuracle product and has a cult-like following in the K-beauty world for its intensive glow-from-within results. Formulated with propolis extract and royal jelly, ingredients known for their natural moisturising, antibacterial and healing properties, it’s a multi-functioning formula that brightens, revitalizes and protects skin from environmental damage. Although it is packaged in a tiny vial, one drop of the formula goes a long way and is perfect to mix into moisturizer for an added boost of goodness. It lives up to the hype!
A lightweight, non-greasy gel containing soothing Centella Complex, known for repairing and restoring damaged skin. The texture absorbs easily into skin and is completely wearable under makeup. The gel provides full spectrum sun protection of SPF50+ PA++++ as well as protecting from fine dust with antioxidant ingredients. Full spectrum is vital when choosing your sunscreen and this offers the highest available protection on the market. Not only is daily sunscreen your best anti-ageing tool, it will also reduce your chances of skin cancer. This is a truly beneficial formula for healthy, comfortable skin.
As we’ve discussed in previous posts, when putting together your skincare routine, it’s great to know your skin type and what you’re trying to achieve. Dr Ceuracle has a wide range of high-performing formulas and makes it easy to choose products to target your specific skin issues and skin needs. Let us know which you’re most interested in!
